Top Ten Chick Lit Blog Sites

It’s easy to lose yourself in the blogosphere, it’s as if everyone’s got some kind of blog or feed chock full of information. Pets with more followers than their owners, goldfish who can type and leprechauns who guarantee to send you a four-leaf clover, all of them vying for your attention and time.

How do you sort through all that information to find what you’re looking for? No need, I’ve done it for you. Whether you’re a writer looking for review sites or a reader looking for their next book, I’ve compiled a list of the ten best chick lit sites for you to check out.

1 Chick Lit Central

Chicklitcentral With various reviews, author interviews, freebies and giveaways on the site, Chick Lit Central has something for readers and writers alike. Be sure to check out their Goodreads group as well.

2 Chloe’s Chick Lit Reviews

This blog is run by Chloe (there’s a shock!) and has many of the same features as Chick Lit Reviews. A self confessed chick-litaholic, Chloe reads around 100 books a year and gives her honest reviews. Unfortunately, due to demands on her time, Chloe is unable to accept review requests from self-published authors.

3 This Chick Reads

this-chick.png Written by Ananda (Ana), you can find reviews and giveaways on this blog. Ana takes review requests for well written books in the chick lit/womens fiction and thriller/crime thriller genres. Acceptable formats for review are physical copies and .mobi files for Kindle.

4 Eve’s Chick Lit Reviews

Eve’s site is unique in a number of ways. To begin with you can customise the way you view her site with a little menu at the top left, giving a number of eye catching options. Then there is the weekly feature ‘Someone Else’s Bookshelf’ which offers an insight into the fascinating (but not creepy) world of what other people are reading, although this was empty at time of publication. Eve is only able to accept physical copies of books as she hasn’t got an e-reader.

5 Chick Lit + Wine

Editors Syrah, Chardonnay + Noir – aka Danielle English, Sonya English and Darcy Calhoun – run a smooth, classy site reviewing (surprise, surprise) chick lit and wine. If you’re looking for the right tipple to compliment their latest recommended read then look no further. A wealth of book reviews, wine reviews and author interviews should keep you interested for a long time.

6 Chick Lit Chickadees

Boasting more than 3500 reviewed books, 1000 authors and about 250 interviews Chicklit Club has got a mass of information and links. While their submission guidelines are fairly specific, they’re  easy enough to follow so drop by and give them a look.

8 Women Writers, Women’s Books

wwwb

This site covers the broader spectrum of women’s fiction, rather than focusing on chick lit. With a wealth of information on authors, books, and advice about writing, Women Writers, Women’s Books is a valuable site that gives the option of posting an article about your book (if you’ve got one)

9 Women On Writing

wow

Women on Writing is packed full of resources for writers and readers alike. With a section that allows writers to publish collections of their articles for self promotion, contests, classes and a resources page for writers, there’s something here for everyone.

10 The House of Chicklitgurrl

Chicklitgurrl, or Shonell Bacon as she is also known, shares he writing, tips and editing on her site. I’ve included her site as it looks to be a great platform for women’s writing which includes chick lit.

So there you go, not an exhaustive list but a good start for authors and readers of chick lit alike.
